Just guessing.........maybe not sitting in the "channel" correctly. Maybe inverted the spring.

to the forum badflt!

To echo those who preceded me, have you checked to see if its inverted, or did one of the spring insulators get left out?

Oops forgot about those. Bet thats it. They, after much use or severe weather, will stick to the old spring. Oh, and they really crush down to almost nothing but are probably essential to eliminate metal to metal rattle.

If you no longer have them, you can either buy new ones or, as an old thread suggests, make your own. Thin foam or rubber will do it.

Just in case you need the part numbers badflt, the upper spring bumper/cushion is GM PN#25993737, the lower spring seat/cushion is GM PN#10362783.

You can get them at Rock Auto, or your dealer, etc.

I posted earlier about the Pedders springs. I found mine to be coil binding pretty bad. New upper mounts, with top spring end aligned with upper spring seat tab, seems to cure it. Found neither side were aligned correctly, at spring install, the first time. "Moon"
