Ceramics OK. But, why bother with drilled & slotted if it's not a show off car? Drilled & slotted adds nothing to performance, unless possibly your "work" is on a race track and you need to reduce unsprung weight by a few ounces. Don't waste your money.

Go for it. I've been very happy with the drilled rotors on my Dodge Avenger after two sets of stock rotors which warped. So far I have about 140,000 km on the drilled ones (vrs 80,000 km on the two sets of solid rotors) - and not a hint of warpage at all. Pad wear may be slighly more with the drilled, but not enough to notice really. I can't remember the specific pads used, but I know they were not ceramic.

The drilled ones seem to run cooler than the stock ones (as per the findings of the SAE paper "The Effect of Rotor Crossdrilling on Brake Performance") as with the pads being used on both I never had a case of brake fade with the drilled ones - and I also found their wet weather performance was a good bit better than the solid rotors, as they definitely got more of an instant bite.
