whats the difference between shocks and shock absorber..i thought they were the same thing...

on gmpartsdirect..there are two different parts listed as such and with different prices

cant post the link since its a generic link (same link for everything you click on) but if you check out the rear suspension for the 08 SS and go to last page (4) thats where the confusion starts lol

Looks like they list all the HHR shocks instead of just the SS FE5.
I did click on the SS when choosing vehicle. I guess the online catalog is not accurate.
I noticed it listed soft ride(thats FE1) sport(FE3) and SS(FE5)
Whoever set up the catalog didn't check it for accuracy.

Exactly. The one listed SS should be the correct FE5

The one listed Sport Suspension is most likely a FE3 which is NOT for the SS.

If you want to make sure, just contact them.

 

so gmpartsdirect is the cheapest to get parts but as someone else told me they never have stuff in stock, always on backorder, so i thought i'd give them a shout and see if they had the suspension in stock...and nope..backorder. I looked at crateenginedepot and their prices are almost double of what gmpartsdirect is..anyone else know of any other place? are the parts from crate gm/acdelco?
