FROM ZZP site Important: there are two different sides and two different sizes of ball joints. Left is drivers side, Right is passengers side. There is a 19.5mm ball joint, and a 20.5mm ball joint. Generally LSJs come with the smaller ball joint, and LNFs come with the larger, the LNF arm can be installed in place of an LSJ arm, but you must spread the spindle to fit the larger ball joint. You cannot install the smaller ball joint control arm in the larger ball joint spindle. We recommend installing the correct arm for the specific vehicle.
When i read this i was like Oh damn they got it right, i guess. I understand it dosent say for HHR ss But it does say 20.5mm, which is a really good thing. I just assumed 20.5= SS and 19.5= LS LT etc. The 8206 axle you are posting seems to be automatic, I have yet to see a CV axle part number for
HHR SS 5speed.

They are talking about Cobalt SS, there were 2 different SS, with different FE5 suspension.

The LSJ was the 2005- 2007 SS, the supercharged version. It had the smaller stud on the ball joint, but was part of the FE5 suspension.

The LNF was the 2008-2010 SS, the turbocharged version. It had the larger stud like our HHRs, still called FE5.

Might check gm8211/8217 ebay says they fit the same cars as the 8206 does with MU3 trans. This link has the specs https://www.ebay.com/itm/Pontiac-G5-....c100005.m1851

So cobalt SS had stamped steel with 20.5 MM ball joints ? If thats the case i would probably say im about to
unbox stamped steel LCA's with 20.5 MM ball joints. Ok this is cool , ill order from GM monday morning.
This problem with Napa Azone advance should be addressed, how can it be like this. I guess since there wasnt
that many SS hhr's built nobody gives a damn. I bet if this problem existed with F150 or chevy Silverado they would sort
it out right away.

It's not just them; GM is also wrong, Moog is wrong; it 's the manufacturers/distributors.

There are a lot of HHRs out there with stamped steel LCAs. I have not heard of of any problems, but that's not what came from the factory.
There are a lot of HHR SSs out there with the wrong ball joints, and undiagnosed clunks and wanders.
There are a lot of HHRs out there with 12 inch sway bar links.

I wouldn't jump right to that. I think the Cobalt SS TC had Cast aluminum LCA. Not 100% sure though.

Here are the part numbers for HHR axles from gmpartsgiant.com.

Then we go to ebay and search the part numbers
https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=20778308& _sacat=0

This method works for most parts.

My control arms came in from ZZP. THEY ARE CORRECT. Cast Alum with 20.5 ball joints, the tag on Lca says 25930725 omg yes yes. I just knew they would show
up steel, funny thing is though they have a Genuine GM sticker attached. My local GM wanted like 80$ more, o well couldnt be happier. ZZP so far has been good to me
i bought a intercooler to fix busted one bolted right up easy , much heavier duty than stock.

Thank you for confirming ZZP sells the GM LCA’s for cheaper than GM sites. Good to know.
