What is This?

I was cleaning and adjusting my drums today and I found this. I couldn't find out what it was from the diagrams on GMParts Direct and I haven't been able to find information in the threads. No noticeable sounds or difference in ride after I removed it. Any help you guys have, as always, is greatly appreciated. Also, sorry about the picture, didn't realize it came out this way until everything was put back together and cleaned up.

Isolater, insulator, bumper jounce, etc. I think it goes by different names.
If it was mine, I would just cut out my own from some scrap material. You seem to be handy enough in that work.

I was just under Gregg giving him some TLC in the rear end. Out of curiosity I peeked up to see if he still has these. They are long gone. So must not be important? Lol

The source of one of those untraceable noises.
