I believe the OEM is ceramics. That's what I replaced mine with anyway. Rotors might just need a cleaning up.

To quote the Mythbusters, "there's your problem right there!" Had the OEM rotors replaced once under warranty and the problem returned shortly after. Replaced them myself with aftermarket rotors (Raybestos) and 30+k miles later the vibration has not returned.

I put ceramics on my SS, stops alot better than the stockers, and dont have to worry about nasty black brake dust coated wheels anymore either, lol.

You have Brembo's correct? If yes, those are not ceramics stock.

Even the stock SS brakes are not ceramic. I also replaced mine with ceramic though as I wanted longer life and less brake dust(I understand I may have lost a slight amount of braking performance by doing so).

I always though the non Brembo brakes were the same as the non SS HHR's. Learn something new today.

The non brembo brakes can use the same aftermarket pads as a non-SS, but the material on the OEM pads is different. It grips well but puts off lots of dust and wears very quickly.

Solman has the right call with ceramic pads as the best to use in this application.

Just be sure to use a good quality pad as just because it says it is ceramic does not mean they are all the same quality.

EBC and Hawk are the best on the market and give the best performance and life. Many cheaper pads use cheap fillers and it does effect quality. They can call them ceramic but the quality can vary.
