Finding an installer for factory roof rack?

Anyone know who would install a factory roof rack in the Toronto/GTA area, preferably on the north end? I have a new set of OEM side rails, and having a hard time finding someone to install them on my car. I've gone to the dealership, Canadian tire, Rack attack, and 3 or 4 other places and none of them seem to do it. Anyone know anyone who does it?

have you tried a local auto body shop? Strange your dealer wont do it! There are post on site on how to do it your self! But I'm sure some of the Canadian crew will chime in shortly. Sorry Im not much help!

I called 3, none of them would do it. Didn't think this would be this much of an issue to find someone to install it.

WOW I am surprised no one want to do it! From what I read on site here its not that hard, Lay out template ,drill holes and coat holes with paint, and some thread adapters! Fairly basic for a shop.. For me No way in heck am I drilling in my roof lol. Good luck with your search,, hope someone finds a shop for you! If your close to the border you may want to try a shop State side!

I would have thought it would be pretty straightforward for a shop. I don't have the tools to do it, or I'd do it myself. I have the template and all the parts needed, just need to find someone who can do it. I'm at least 2 hours from the border itself, there has to be someone in the Toronto area that does this sort of thing, professionally or otherwise.

Surprised that you can't find anyone. But maybe that is a good indication. Shops probably don't wish to do the install because of the potential/liability of leaks which they do not wish to fix.

It is a fairly easy install (without the leaks ) if the installer takes the time to do it correctly. Several members have done this themselves without complications. Seems the layout would be the tough part.

Did you mention that you have the full kit instructions and all? I guess everybody is too rich from overcharging other repairs to mess with a 45 minute job labor only. Shops do actually make a lot of money from parts markups, that could be the problem. Try a place that sells truck caps, like Leonard or whatever you have around there.

I'm not even that worried about leaks...from what I gather, even if they do a crappy job I can seal it with a touch of silicone after the fact. I have the instructions, templates, everything from a brand new kit, scanned the instructions to email a few people. If they're really that shortsighted to toss off a 45 min job, they're not very bright. I still have to buy cross rails, and would likely buy them from whoever could actually install the rails, not to mention recommend them to others, and since there are apparently so few people that do this, it'd probably bring in good business. I wasn't aware that so many mechanics were so well off that they could refuse work.
