Battery

A group 48 battery will fit. It has the vent system and 850 CCA. About 1.5 inches longer and 1 inch higher. Oldblue has one for confirmation of fit.

(that should say group 47/H5)

Ok. Gotta ask.
I did a search for Group 48 batteries. Most of what I see is 700-730 CCA. Also didn't see any that showed the vent system our HHR's need.

Does Oldblue have a certain brand battery that has the specs you listed ?

The NAPA batteries group 48 & 49 have vent holes and elbows included. Don't know if it's something new or specific.

CCA is really so old-school…

"flooded' vs AGM , reminds me of , carburetors vs fuel injectors, & showing my age, (62) , black/white vs color TVs
Some guys just don't like the better modern technology...

AGM batteries have more plate-surface-area, in the same size 'box', as the antique 'flooded' type batteries.
AGM batteries provide enormous cranking power, & deep cycle reserve power.
The AGM batteries are the best of both worlds...

AGM batteries are capable of providing engine cranking pulses in excess of double to triple that of equally sized conventional batteries, even at very low temperatures. And they can handle 400 charge-discharge cycles to 80% depth of discharge.

$134 for an AGM battery that will last twice as long as your's, is a better deal…
Sears, with there sales & discount 'points' , a better deal also…

I run this light-weight 20lb battery in the winter, that's rated at 400CCA
ODYSSEY Batteries - PC950-P

During the racing season, I run this 5lb battery, that's rated at 540CCA

I see the price of $ 217.47 not $134.00 but I will consider AGM next time I need a battery.
But 400 CCA is very low for me

$134 at SAMs club , link in post #5

CCA is the old-school 'flooded' battery thing...
AGM batteries have 2-3 times the cranking power...
