Welcome to the site, Jim! I'm not sure who you're directing the debadging question to, so I'll give you my method, dental floss, double strand, get it into the 3M tape behind the badge and move in a sawing motion to cut thru the tape, any residue I roll off with my thumb, then a spritz of rubbing alcohol.
was doing good . . but 65 % :( lmao . . . . . . . .

At least I got 69%. Buick/Olds and 59/58 got me.

88%. It was a couple of those Chryslers.

Ok, the 3 fender emblems mean, not a Road Master, so thinking Special.
1950 or '51 Buick Special w/ straight 8. |
1951 Buick Super.
Seems like Bonez is not gonna tell us I was right.. LOL
Bonez, are ya out there ?
Don’t leave us hanging man! Enquiring minds just gots ya know!
What is it, Bonez, what is it? |
If you look in his pics you will get the answer. And revealing this, I must disqualify my answer.................................
? A Roadmaster is supposed to have 4 portolets per side.
There is a chrome emblem on the trunk lid that says "Special"
But, that's none of my business... |
Blue- I never said it was a Road Master, I did say it was NOT one.

I’m just indicating the number of portolet’s , nothing to do with your post, Sleeper.
As for the script in the trunk lid , the photo is to grainy to read it. That and it’s easy to stick a nameplate or badge on a car to make it something it’s not! Like or trucklets and people who stick SS badges on the doors of an LT or LS |
And, back in the 50's badges were bolted on.
Well whatever it is, I like it!
Well the old owner posted what he said it was at the pics.. So there's that... And I like it too.

It is a 51 Buick Special Hardtop ( rare as most had side posts ) It started by pressing the gas pedal down ( pretty cool ) An ex girlfriend got it from her boss as a Christmas gift instead of a pay raise ( he had too many cars and wife was making him downsize ) I helped her work on it, after she got married it sat in the field at their farm and I acquired it after 10 years. I rewired it and redone the entire interior in silver crushed payne and paint over the winter season in my basement. After owning it a few years mainly sitting in my garage only driven occasionally on the weekends I sold it to a collector. If I would have kept it I would have chopped and dropped it as well as drop a built motor and trans in it, the original torsion suspension floated like a boat. |
Well there it is....Cool Beans..
Yeah... It's a Special, but go ahead, don't believe me... wadda' I know
