Question adjusting apply/release torque converter

greetings all, currently tuning my SS with the auto and realize that around town and even slight uphill roads the converter locks up in 3rd and makes it feel like it's struggling to go and i'd have to apply more and more throttle until either the converter unlocks and/or downshifts. how many of you adjusted the throttle percentage to release the converter and and what mph do you have it apply/release?

The converter should not lock in 3. In gentle operation it should hit 4 at around 38 then lock at about 40. If it bothers you try driving in L instead of D, that keeps it out of overdrive and changes all of the shift points.

my stock tune shows it locks in 3rd as well as 4th. mines a 2010 for what it's worth. having it only lock in 4th works fine with me though lol, im tuning via hptuners, that's how I was able to see that the ecm is locking in 3rd as well.

You might do better over on the hpt forums.
