You know the rear turn signal don't work? and the front impact sensor and SDM need replacing and programming?
The trans is the least of your problems. I suspect the impact did damage to the fuse box. The trans problem is most likely in the TCM connector.

ya know for the longest time i have been dwelling on a dreaded shift solenoid swap and i never really gave much thought to the other codes thinking they are just inconsequential but i will give that some effort before i put her up on stands. Yeah actually that scan i did a couple weeks ago and have corrected the turn signals, thanks.

just re ran the scan and now am showing

P0010 - cam position sensor
P0700
P0973
P0455 large evap leak

the rest are gone plus i just did a fluid/filter and no change. Starting to look harness over and will chase the wire runs better tomorrow. I think i have the 06 service manual on my tablet at home and need to dig out the wiring diagram of the trans harness, would like to see the actual harness schematic

Hoping for an external fix i been avoiding doing the solenoids like the plague lol

NOT cam sensor; cam VVT valve CIRCUIT, could be either a wire or an internal short.

thanks for all your help, i know you do a lot of Q&A on here and some of these topics can get repetitious. You know whats funny about working on my HHR is it actually feels foreign to me, not that working on cars is foreign but working on THIS car feels that way. Ive been a car gut my whole fifty five year life and have wrenched on all my rides but they have all been of similar big truck or muscle car platforms and all RWD. But this little thing just by the fact its so damn reliable and rarely needs a thing, its just feels very unfamiliar the few times i've had to do any service on it. It sounds weird but its actually intimidating, im an old school real wheel drive guy to the core lol I do lots of topic searching on here and its very helpful, you and OB put a lot of time and effort in thats for sure.

Seems like i have some wiring issues, this is why i was seeking the harness numbers mine are all smudged off and i figured if i could still get them it would be easier for a few hundred bucks then chasing wires if that makes any sense. My business keeps me super busy and id rather buy time wherever i can

I’m old school, I prefer to chase a loose pin in the connectors or a broken ground wire, usually a couple of bucks, because sometimes the new harness doesn’t include that elusive problem

any place online i could find a complete schematic for the trans harness? For some odd reason ive not bought any manuals for this car yet (again, hardly ever have to do anything to it lol) I downloaded the one from here that you sent me a link to but lost it in a tablet that quit working. Thought i had saved it to the current tab but could not find it.

What Donbrew was saying is, it's NOT a sensor as you have listed above. P0010 refers to the camshaft solenoids or their wiring. I have gotten that code just like many other Ecotec owners have . I had that code on and off for many months. Finally replaced both camshaft actuator solenoids (intake and exhaust). Haven't had the P0010 code return.

ahh, cool ill look into that then. I may have actually mis read or remembered the code dialog incorrectly. Did the scan then later on posted it here from memory. I am bound and determined to clear all codes from this thing before i list it for sale (so i can then devote all time to my SS "Panel" )

I have never heard of or seen a complete schematic for the trans harness. I have seen and posted connector end views. Should be the same for all years.

The name of the OBD test is very misleading, almost everybody misunderstands what it means (including experienced mechanics that should know better). Autozone and Advance have sold millions of camshaft sensors because the only read key words "sensor"

P0455 might be as simple as getting a new gas cap..
