I have my engine out of my '09 HHR SS. It has the stock automatic transmission (4T45-E). While making the engine repairs, I'd like to spend a little $$ and replace a couple things on the front of the transmission. I already purchase the torque converter seal. However, I also want to replace the circled item in the following image. I'm told it's the "turbine shaft o-ring seal."
However, not the dealership, nor several online resources can tell me if it's #40 or #41 in the following parts diagram. From poking around Google Images looking at both part numbers, I believe it's #41, but I cannot find #40 on the front of my transmission (unless it's hidden inside), so process of elimination doesn't conclude anything for me. Can anyone confirm what o-ring I have circled in the above picture?
This here is the only listing I could find. However, in the numerical listing below its image, it stops short of calling out 040 or 041 explicitly. I'm suspicious that two of the items very near the end of the web page are 040 and 041, but like I said, neither are explicitly called out. So I'm unsure.

If you follow the line from center of the torque converter it is #41. #40 maybe internal. By the picture you showed I don't see it on the input shaft of the unit.

I was thinking #41 too. I found a cheap one at RockAuto (genuine OEM) and threw it in my shopping cart w/other parts. So I guess I'll know for sure when it arrives.
