Question What is the problem?

I have a 2006 HHR LT with 169,000 miles and the craziest thing has been happening lately. While driving, either fast or slow, the auto door locks will start unlocking and locking and the car briefly goes into neutral. At first it happened a few times and then stopped but today it wouldn't stop doing it. I could feel the car shifting in and out of gear and the locks were going up and down like the car is possessed or something. And the traction control light came on also. Does anyone have a clue what the heck is going on? Sure would appreciate some enlightenment!

Hi clj2ch1, to the forums!!

First suggestion is to go to your local parts house and get a free battery and charging system test. These buggys get temperamental when supplied with low voltage.

The first thing is open the hood and look for wires frayed/laying on hot surfaces/grounding.

Then look at the connection of the large red wire to the under hood fuse box, it may be loose.

Then look at the connectors to the TCM and the ECM under the black hood in front of the fuse box.

After that it could be the fuse box itself is separating.
