Gas Mileage
Unless it's missing or replaced.......the Emission Compliance sticker, under the hood, will tell you which engine.
Of course, when the dealer told you the engine was a 2.0, he/she was wrong....or the engine was replaced incorrectly. However, if you have a 2.0 that could be an advantage. Also if the dealer searched under the 2.0 ltr. engine designation for the struts and shock replacement part...you were upgraded to the SS parts, accidentally (that, IMO, is a good thing). I doubt that happened though. Most knowledgeable (yours wasn't) dealers do it by VIN.

I thought I was getting about 24-25 MPH in myy 09 SS, but then I read here that you are supposed to reset the Avg Mileage when you fill up. Now on the highway depending on how the drive goes, I can get anywhere from 28-34 MPG. Sorry if someone already put that in here but there were too many posts to check. Using the miles driven divided by the gallons gets me around 27-28 MPG Highway mileage.
Has anyone else noticed..I surely have...when they added the Airaid cold intake that their gas mileage went down compared to the stock air box? Its driving me nuts, im thinking of ripping it out and putting stock back in or maybe trying the CGS set up
My mileage hasnt dropped with the airaid setup. If i drive easy i can get 27 around town. And still get about 32 on the highway.
Sure your right foot isnt into it a little more. Its nice to hear that sound.
The cgs wont get u any better. Its more of a hot air intake than the airaid. No intake is gunna greatly improve you mileage. the stock setup is very efficient.

does your Airaid give you a delay when u step on it? I only hear it when i step on it, never any other time because people were sayin its so loud..but you never hear it unless you gun it. Seems as if its lacking the correct air flow through it
I hypermile in all respects but drafting. I got a used 2011 HHR and was pleased to see on the 61 mile trip back from the dealer (55mph) I did 38mpg. Most highway driving is 36-39 mpg. In town I do 26-29 mpg. I should say my town in southeast CT is semi-rural. Even with a kayak on top I got 38mpg on a 37 mile trip. Very happy with my choice. Expect a 20% decline in stats in winter months.

I have a 2011 1lt and when I bought it a few weeks ago (Enterprise Car Sales) it said I was getting about 24/25 city and 34 highway. In the last week it's reporting 19.2 on both accounts. My tires report an average 27/28 psi.
Any suggestions?
