HHR LT2 Gas Mileage 2008
We get 18 to 22 city and 25 - 28 highway.
This disappoints me for it is not a big car. It has the 2.4L engine which I was told was the stronger of the 3 offered for the HHR. Maybe if it had 5 or 6 speeds rather than the 4, it might get better mileage. We bought new, went through the brake in period and saw no improvement. Now we are at 65K miles and it runs great but poor MPG.:boetie: |

Roadtripped my Zombie Van this weekend. Averaged 34.5 I run 91 octane most of the time, 93 when I can.
81.5K miles 2.4 liter (stock) 5 speed. |
According to the MPG on cars computer, i always get over 26MPG on curvy roads and on steady highway its usually 28or so-BUT: i have noticed that my REAL from full tank to full tank is quite exactly 10liters/100km - that is 23MPG. but that does include city driving too.
ours is 2.4automatic, 2008 model. our gas is like your "92.5"-octane. semi-super. |

I have tried 87 ,89 and 91 octane no 93 up north! My avg, around town
27/28.9 per DIC.. by my calculator maybe .2/.3 difference so DIC pretty close.. I am sort of light footed unless I see a 18 wheeler bearing down on me then Pucker Factor kicks in :O.... Best I have done highway about 300 mile was 30.4 mpg.. SO not as good as some her but ok.. My sons 2LT 2011 HHR 2.4 runs close to my MPG |
Hi everyone
I just bought my 06 HHR 10 days ago. I used to drive a PT Cruiser. Same size engine (2.4), but the HHR is so much more fuel effecient. I was lucky to get 430 kms (Canada) out of my Cruiser. I get between 600 and 700 kms out of my HHR. Computer reads 9.7 liters per 100 kms, and 2 of those evenings I was delivering pizza. I love the gas mileage.
P.S. 184 000 kms on the engine, automatic tranny P.P.S. I buy the cheap gas on the reserve, I can only guess how it would be with the good stuff |

2010 LS 2.2L auto
According to the computer 8L per 100 km or 35.3 MPG for the Yanks. Getting around 680 before low fuel comes on. About 60 km each way for a drive into work, 45 of that is Hwy. Hoping to do a long Hwy drive in the fall and get 900 km out of a tank! |
