I had the ignition switch recall done last week. Should they have given me new remotes as part of the recall? I just bought the car and had no remote. They did give me an extra key.

 

No, remotes are not included in the recall.

Did you inquire with them at the time the recall was done?

 

If you're curious, here's a picture of the recall kit parts.

 

They were supposed to confiscate all of your old keys and give 2 new ones. Check eBay and other online sources for a keyfob that comes with a programming module Dorman product has them (wholesale brand).

George; you seem to be missing one of the recall parts, there are actually 2 separate recalls one is the key and cylinder and the other is the ignition switch. On my 2011 LT anyway, maybe it varies by vehucle.
