Well, it seems that it really didn't like being shifted at redline. Being it was a V6/6 speed manual with 89,000 miles when I bought it, I suspect that when I did it, it wasn't the first time. But, I did beat the 2000 Camaro SS in the process. Shortly after, a rod knock developed. I ate $5000 to get rid of it by rolling that much into the loan on an 09 Charger R/T

That'll do it. Cause those V-6s' have pretty good rep otherwise.. But no-one likes a rod knock..

Well, other than losing timing chain tension if you do not do a Mobil 1 oil change every 4000 miles. That's what kills most of them in the GM SUVs.

Agreed, I have switched from Full Syn Mobil 1, to 100% Synthetic Amsoil..
