Just wondering if there are any other members? I was very apprehensive about purchasing anything from General Maintenance, and had not owned a Chevy since my first car a 67 Chevelle. My uncle worked for 30 years for GM and had an extra employee discount at the end of 2006 so we took a chance and purchased a 2007 2.4 LT.
Have read some horror stories on here, but so far this car ROCKS! It's my wifes car and 90% of miles are highway. Have used nothing but Mobil1 synthetic since the first oil change, using nothing but purolator filters. Changed the air filter at 50K and 100K. Stock Firestone Affinity's lasted 75K rotated every 20K and replaced them with the same while watching Firestones website and found a buy 3 get one free coupon, which any Firestone dealer has to accept.
Yes, the rotors did warp and replaced them at 98K. Just did the struts last weekend with KYB's and rides like it just came off the showroom floor. Also used BG products BG44K injector cleaner at 50K and 100K, and still getting 32 mpg highway. Only gripe we have so far is the depreciation value.

Good for you! I am only half way there, and I really don't want to rush that! It sounds like you definitely know how to take care of your ride and it should last many more miles for you.
My other two daily drivers are GMs and well over 200K. A lot of it is just paying close attention to detail on the maintenance before bigger troubles errupt.

Glad you decided to try GM again nc07hhr because I have owned 45 automobiles with 75% of them being GM and never go a lemon from GM.
We haven’t hit 100,000 yet but we are at 84,000 on the 06 LT 2.2 and all we have had to do is replace two front wheel bearings but only one was bad at 73,000. The oil has been changed every 3,000 miles with who knows what, we got free oil changes for life when we got the car new. The front brakes have been changed and the original rotors were turned but not because of being warped just because of a little circle in one and all that was done at 70,000 miles. All the miles on this car are heavy stop and go city miles by my son who just turned 19. My 08 LT 2.2 only has 14,000 so I am a long way from 100,000.

I only have 30,000 miles on HHRvey and I took him in yesterday for an oil change & 27 point check up. Everything is in the green, no attention needed on anything, and I am still riding on 3 of my original tires (hit road debris that cut a tire)
I also received coupons from GM in the mail. The 27 point inspection was free, as well as $10 off the oil change.
The total cost for all of this came to $21.12!
Over 5 years old and still going strong! Too bad HHR's didnt retain a good trade-in value, but it is still fun to drive anyway.

124,000 +
there is anouther post here that lists a few that have over 100,000...If i continue to do this insane delivery contract job i have , i will have over 200,000 miles within the next year on my 08 2.4..I hope to see 400,000 with no major mechanical issues.....but i also hope to find motor /trans to keep in storage , just in case.
I fully understand your apprehension. The stories on this site scare the heck out of me. I have yet to have even a stitch of problems with my '08 HHR in 15k miles, but I'm afraid to take it on long trips. I use my proven and dependable '00 Olds Bravada with 100k miles instead. (oddly, the reviews from 2000 painted a poor picture of this vehicle also). At that time, I wasn't into the internet, so I trusted my own instincts rather than what I read. In my case, the reviews and ratings were dead wrong.
I feel like I'm sitting on a timebomb, but maybe (and hopefully) it's unfounded. Although it's an extremely valuable information resource, maybe if we didn't have the internet, we'd all be a little bit happier at times...

You have to remember, people don't make it known when they are happy with something, but only when they are disappointed. Think of how many HHR's are on the road, and how many people are on this site. Then figure how many on this site don't like the HHR or have had major problems, and figure with the total number out there. It's about the same ratio as airline flights and airline crashes...
