We have 104 at 2:30 up here in the desert and a fire somewhere off to the west near Lake Isabella. I can see the smoke and smell it from here.

I have no AC here in the 'hood--Irvine wasn't too bad when I left a few hours ago. Not sure how warm it has gotten but I did find all the animals collapsed in front of the fans when I got home!

Whew!

Now I'm in front of it!

92 in Carlsbad today....my bud called from Santa Maria, in north Santa Barbara County.....111 degrees at midday....107 at 5:00 PST.

Said the a/c in the house could only cool it down to 85.

He and the wife took the HHR out to lunch to cool down....

rub your tongue on the roof of your mouth. The cold hitting that area of your palate is what causes the brain freeze :) rubbing your tongue over it will warm it up . hence reduce the amount of time you have the brain freeze. Unless that is you prefered state of mind

I will be in Mira Mesa on Monday, gotta see a client off Miramar Road. Lots of
asphalt. Hope it's cooled down a bit by then.

My nephew says that the kids pinch their earlobes to stop brain freeze. I haven't had to test that thoery as yet....but someday....LOL

Are you making the run Saturday night..?

There's a 95% chance I'll be there, but I need to finish some paperwork that's overdue. If I don't get it done the boss may force me to stay until it get's done.

Anyhow, maybe I'll see you up there?
