Lightbulb 140 MPH "SS" SPEEDO Mod/Install

So the UPS just dropped off our latest Mod, a 140 MPH "SS" Speedometer !

One question: Does anyone now if the I/P Clusters "Mileage" is Self Contained? Not sure on the mileage of the vehicle that it came out of and ours currently has 20,700 miles on the Odometer! Oh Well, I guess I will find out once installed! Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

I hope you can make this work, I was told it wouldn't work on a non-SS. I'll be watching because I want to do this too.

If it can be done it will have to be programmed. I know we do it to some of our fleet vehicles when the cluster has to be replaced. Older ones we couldn't program in the correct mileage, most of the new ones we can.

I know, no help......

Make sure you tell us all when you max out the new speedo, provided you survive. I have a car with a 200 mph speedo and I haven't even come close to reaching that limit, nor have I tried. The manufacturer stopped producing them because some drivers tried to reach that limit.

The mileage is held in the memory of the BCM. These clusters are plug and play if this will work on your HHR.

Well I will try and get this installed Friday Morning ! Although we purchased ours on http://www.car-part.com/ for $120.00 shipped I pulled the part number off of it and referenced GM PARTS Direct:

GM PART # 25897020
CATEGORY: Instrument Panel Guage Cluster
PACK QTY: 1
CORE CHARGE: $0.00
GM LIST: $192.14
OUR PRICE: $119.89

DESCRIPTION: CLUSTER

Although the Cluster was out of a low milage vehicle I would have prefered New !

Until Friday,
