for all you 2006 & 2007 hhr owers that have been and chkg their dic and going throught their owners manual looking for the INSTANTANT MPG read out... there AIN'T NONE according to MrGM... only became available in 2008

i had joan jumping through hoops trying to find it on our 2006.

our 90 jag had it... our town and country hadd it... the computer i installed in our 74 conversion van (those were fun days) had... so in 2006 CHEVY save a few 1/10s of a cent and didnt include it until this year.
can you have your DIC flashed to update it with IMPG? ChevyMgr says "NO"

He should know. He sees these cars being worked on everyday.
Reset your dic as you are going down the road and it will show ya the info after you drive a few miles. My 07 does. Its sad to sit at a light and watch the numbers go down!!! Idling kills you gas milage.

My 06 is the same. The past weekend I went to a wedding in GA and after I got off the interstate and was on secondary roads (55mph). I set the cruise to 59 and reset it, once stablized it showed 37-38 mpg. The interstate (70mph) it was reading 30 dead on with the cruise set at 73.

It doesn't hurt to check it the old fashion way, calculator or paper, once in awhile!

when im gonna make a trip up on the expressway, i reset the mpg display and check it here and there as im traveling. this past weekend made a lil drive to my parents house. bout 75 miles away, set the cruise at bout 67-68 or so. there was lil traffic and had to cut the cruise cont. every once in a while. never the less i avg. about 38.6 mpg. that's going. and then again coming. well comiing back i did about 34 mpg, due to heavy foot wanting to get home......quickly

I reset mine while on the interstate and drafting behind a semi... it hit 44 mpg for a lil bit then tapered off as I got farther away from the semi

For what it's worth, I think I know why the 06 and 07 do not have the instant MPG, they have the extended visors! My 08 has the instant MPG BUT doesn't have the extended visors!! Guess GM couldn't afford both?

I check it every fill up. It's always wrong in my favor by 0.1 to 1.1 mpg
