2007 in Summit White

I remeber a discussion about a person who wanted a 2007 Hhr in white in an ls. He/She said it wasn't possible at the build computer at his/her dealer. This is true in the 2007 Hhr book it states "Requires bright chrome appearance package. Not available on LS models." This is the statement from the book so it looks like their will be no ls model hhrs. I believe the 2006 models white was available on the ls b/c it doesn't state in the book any limits or restrictions.

I've never seen a 2006 that didn't have the "polished chrome" finish either.

It may have been this way all along.

Steel, it was me. The white issue and a couple of other unresolved quirks meant I ended up with a Cobalt. I have figured out availability on everything now, and will order the HHR sometime this spring. btw, my salesman is the fleet buyer at the dealer. He confirmed that it IS possible to get an LS in summitt white, WITHOUT bright chrome package if a fleet order for 10 or more is placed. Something else I have since discovered, is that the replacement grills are surprisingly cheap. A brand new, genuine GM polished chrome was under $130 at a Denver dealer. Brushed might be even less. If I thought I was gonna die, or something, if I couln't get the brushed chrome I could just go buy my own and stick it in.

Meanwhile I really like the Cobalt. At 2780 pounds it is close to 400 pounds lighter and the 2.2 just flies in this thing.

I was close to choosing the cobalt but my local dealer didn't have what options and what level i wanted which was the ss 4 door, so i opted for the hhr b/c every option I wanted it had on it. Will you still get white in the spring or will you choose another color b/c im guessing you are not going to order a fleet of hhrs?

Yes, it will be white. I am not that partial to it artistically, but I read this thing from Mercedes Benz once explaining that white was the best color to buy. Especially in high altitude or desert areas. It reflects the most sunlight and UV and the pigments to make white are oxides of zinc, and are the most durable of all pigments. Surprisingly, they noted that at that time most of their cars were silver and they pointed out it was made with some of the LEAST durable pigments and they didn't reccomend grey or silver! I saw a white w/bright chrome LT and it looked pretty good. The white does tend to make the HHR look bigger. Kind of like a whale or something. But then, that is part of it's appeal to me--the big, old, rounded retro look.
