2008 HHR LT Value

I have a 2008 HHR LT 2.4 w/auto with 54,000 mostly interstate miles. It's loaded with everything except leather. It's always been maintained and oil changed every 3,000 miles. I just put the 80,000 mile GoodYear TripleTred tires on it and was thinking about selling it. Back around Thanksgiving the dealer was going to give me $12,500 trade when it had 48,000 miles. Around Christmas time I went back to buy a truck thinking I would get $12,500 trade in but since it had 52,000 on it they dropped the value to $10,000. I still have the HHR and I'm still thinking about selling it but I'm not sure what it's worth. Any ideas?

Well welcome bklem, sorry to hear you're thinking of parting with your HHR. For a fairly accurate value on you vehicle you can try the Kelly Blue Book at www.kbb.com. It'll ask for your ZIP, mileage, options, and general condition. You can look at the trade in value and the retail values. Hope this helps.

As a trade in, I think $10k is pretty good. You could probably get a little more selling it yourself. As an indicator, I just bought an 08 LT2 with sunroof for $12.8k just a month ago from a dealer with 12 month warranty and only 24k miles on it. The value on these things are dropping like a rock, it seems.

Thanks for the input. I've noticed they've been dropping in price. It's been good to me and I enjoy driving it but I gave up my truck to buy the HHR and now I bought a house and a truck would be nice again to haul stuff.

Unfortunately I was driving on the interstate in the snow on my way to work the other day and as I was passing a semi a chunk of ice fell of the tractor and hit my car right where the fender and hood meet. If someone can tell me how to post pics on here I will post some of the damage.

Just click the "gallery" link at the top of the page, then click upload and upload your pic(s).

After that, about halfway down the page, you will see some text boxes containing code. Select the BB Code one and copy that text, then paste it into your post.

That should be a fairly cheap fix.

All I know is I owe more then its worth but considering where it started, its not a bad deal. I think I owe like 12-13 and like said worth was around 10k. Kinda annoying.
