These guys are local. They do some real good work. I saw them hammer one of the Solstice here. Sounded good!

These guys are some of the best fab guys in the country.

3.0 I had, then sold to a friend. I turned a good profit on it, because I originally got the engine for a good deal( a steal really). My buddy sold his projects too, and said he would sell it back to me.

Really, a 3.0 is not that reliable. I hear of them breaking down a lot.. a 3.8 is a friggen tank, and can haul a$$. I would personally like to take a 3.8 and a solstice conversion in mine. I think a 3.8 in an HHR, would be faster, but still fuel efficient to a degree. What do ya think?

It is not the engine you are thinking of, i trust. A decent 3.8 swap would be cool. Series I 3.8 anyway.

I was thinking actually.. parting a Grand Prix GTP or GXP Comp G and using the motor/trans from that if possible.

Do it! My next immediate order of business will be finding another vehicle, so I can hack this one up in due time.

Think it would be possible to use a GTP or GXP comp G motor and trans on an HHR?

Are we talking keeping it FWD? Then no. Are we making it RWD? Then no. Problem you run into there is the trans(among other things). Finding a nice 3.8 f-body would be easier.

Let me edit this, i don't normally take the route of shooting down ideas. So yes, it can be done. But not without headaches, as with anything. I have a 28" long engine I am trying to shove in mine. I know about headaches, and I am only on the 'chalk board' phase.
