400,000 mile HHR??
I apologize in advance if this is old news, but I came across this YouTube video and I thought I'd share it with y'all. It is that of an HHR odometer breaking the 400,000 mile barrier. The video clearly shows the inside of an HHR, and it appears to be real as far as I can tell. I wouldn't doubt it as I've heard nothing but good about these Ecotec motors we have. I've heard the motor will theoretically outlast the car itself. I think if someone had a job as a courier, or travelled cross-country in the HHR on a regular basis, those kind of miles wouldn't be out of the question. In fact, don't we have a couple couriers/delivery people on this forum? Must be mostly highway miles and religiously maintained. That's Chevy reliability for you... Go Chevy!!

if my math is correct(his video is from 7/10) he is averaging in the neighborhood of 242 miles per day. my calcuations:1650 days-4 years plus 7 months. 400,000/1650=242.42424242. i assume he didnt drive 7 days a week. so if this person drove 5 days a week(average up to 339 miles per day at 5 days instead of 7) he would need 6 hours at 56.5 MPH. seems a little bit unreal to me, but it is possible

How many miles do you have on your HHR now? I think it would be interesting to know if he changes his oil every 3,000 miles or follows the Oil Life Monitor. Not to beat a dead horse, but just to see how he achieved this kind of mileage. Also, it depends on when he bought it. If he bought it new, he could have had it in 2005. More time would allow for more miles....

Glad you posted this, I would assume he drives it 7 days a week.Plenty of chevy trucks etc. that have a million miles plus on them so I am not surprised,But I am happy to see an ecotec get to this mileage.

Given proper care, there is no reason why someone out there won't reach a million miles on an Ecotec someday. My personal best on any four cylinder engine is 790,893 miles, that was a 1989 Beretta with the 2.0 liter OHV four, it would probably still be going strong if that idiot hadn't hit me from behind turning the car into "modern art". I still have the ignition key bent at 90 degrees by my knee as a keepsake, plus the scar on my right knee too...of course.
