always use 5w30 oil?
 

Does everyone use 5w30 oil as recommended? I was just wondering if it would hurt to use 10w30. I have a few containers left from my former vehicle . :roll:

I always use the recommended viscosit. You probably could use 10W30 in the summertime, but just check the users manual. It should state if other weights are acceptable and what temperatures you can use them in. If you don't use it in the car, it should work in your lawnmower. The lawnmowers usually call for SAE30 or 10W30.

Follow the manufacturer's recommended oil to use. Anything else can cause problems. And...every oil change...add SeaFoam...it is amazing!

My father purchased a boat in 1971 that was made in 1947. It had twin Chrysler Flat Head Six engines. One engine was spewing out smoke. We poured some SeaFoam into the crankcase, restarted the engine...it coughed once, then purred like a kitten and no smoke. During WWII, SeaFoam was used by the US Navy and they said it made their engines run better and longer.

Directions: Add to crankcase when changing oil...add to gas every 2,000 to 5,000 miles, just like Deb said above.

You're supposed to change your oil if you put seafoam in it, not after you change the oil.

On css, a couple people have put it in there oil, vacuum line, and fuel tank. When they rev the engine afterwards, it smokes like crazy for a few minutes. They say it makes a noticeable difference though.

Greatest stuff in the world. My car was starting to idle a little rough, poured a can in the tank when I filled it, and now you can hardly tell the engine is running. Going to try it in the crankcase next time I change my oil too.
