My dealership called me back regarding the running boards and the cost. He said he was going to give them to me at cost but he come up with a price of 412.25 they cost 440.00...that can't be cost? What has others paid for them? These are the stock one's colored to match vehicle.

Your one of the lucky ones. Others have had to pay the $400 and then a bit more to have them color matched.

I'm paying 512.33 that is for the running boards, mudflaps and installation. Then they are painting my sandblasted fenders for me free since that was a big issue.

Boards colored matched and installed and a set of flaps sounds about right for the price.

GM cost on an unpainted set of running boards is $325.00. Then you add paint labor, paint materials and install labor. I would say they are pretty close to cost on their quote to you. Where did you get the $440.00 price and did that include painting and installation?

I called the parts department the imperial blue for the 2007 with tax is $458.33 the $440 was before tax actually I think he quoted me $439 last week. They are already painted as well. When I orig. spoke with the dealer last week they said they would give them to me at cost...$412.25 can't be at cost could it?

If that included installing them it's close. Like I said UNPAINTED cost is $325 so painted from GM would have to add $40-$60 to the cost.

We charge $80.00 to install them after they are painted. Cost on labor depends on how much the tech is paid that put them on. At my shop cost on this would be $18.00 in labor. But I doubt the service department will discount the labor to cost. We don't care what the sales department sells an accessory for, we are still going to charge our normal rates to the sales department.
