Antenna…

Question….does the radio antenna screw into the base or mount? Anyone know what resistance should be?

I don't know exactly what you are asking. The antenna mast screws into the mount, the inside part is an amplifier that runs off power from the radio on the pink wire (IIRC). Don't know how or why you would measure resistance, maybe RF experts would know.

I was just wondering if the mast of the antenna screwed into the base or part that is mounted to the car. If did figured be easy to ohm it out and check for short too.
Where is best place to check pink wire for power to antenna?

It goes directly from the radio to the antenna base. It is the same 12V signal that used for automatic antennas and external amps.

Ok….so remove radio and back probe the pink wire I guess…at least check for power out of radio on pink wire.
Seems to me like I read some where that some these cars/ models had amps and some didnt. Dont think my 2011 LT has an amp. But as I understand it they all had ampilfied antennas correct?

…it may be as simple as corroded connection…considering age of car and humidity here

All have amped antenna, you would know about an amped radio by the woofer in the qtr trim.
