Anti-sway bar question

My HHR is on order and I would like to order a rear anti-sway for it. I've read a lot of old post with some people saying that a 2LT has a factory rear anti-sway bar on it. Is this true? Also, any recommendations on a brand and vendor to purchase a bar from? BTW, I'm cheap.

thanks!
Randy

Hey Randy. Welcome to the site and congrats on the new HHR. The 2LT has a torque beam but not considered an anti sway bar. Check Progressive Technologies out for a rear bar. I have one, ran about $147 shipped and it really makes the front driver car handle better. Hope that helps

Drive your new HHR without the Progress bar for a month, then install it to feel the differnce it makes. You'll know that GM should have made a rear sway bar a standard suspension component (at the very least on 2LT models).

Welcome to the forum.
The HHR does not come with a rear anti-sway bar.
As stated, there is a rear support bar, but that does not help the handling as much as a sway bar does.
Many of us here have used the Progressive Technology's bar and have stated satisfactory improvement in handling.
Check on e-bay for decent pricing. Probably gona pay around $140's
I also suggest driving your HHR for awhile to get the feel of it without the bar.
Good luck and keep us posted on your results.

Some good pictures of installed sway bars here:

I can state without any reservation whatsoever that the rear anti-sway bar has made a HUGE positive difference in the way my HHR handles, especially on turns!

Then when I changed the lousey OEM tires to good ones, the car REALLY handles nicely.

But make no mistake about it, the anti-sway bar alone made a big difference.

Get one. I bought the Suspension Techniques bar. It is NOT as thick as the Progressive bar, but it works just fine. Either one will work well for you.

Peace,

I ordered it.

I just placed a order with www.neverenoughauto.com - $137 shipped. Now I just need the HHR to show up! Hopefully by the end of the month.

Chad, Summit Racing has them, maybe some of our vendors here, too. They don't even show up on Eibach's site yet, I saw them on:www.summitracing.com. In the search box, just type in HHR, brings up everything they have for our ride.
