I keep getting emails from Ally for free Onstar. Never used it or set it up. My mother-in-law cosigned on the loan for the car yet I pay everything and have everything in my name. Onstar called my car once to set it up but refused to do it for me. They only wanted to talk to her to set it up. I have the loan, I have the insurance, I pay the payments, all paperwork comes to me but they would only do it for her. I hung up on them.

I've heard somewhere that you can call them and say that you just bought the car and you can get three free months but I don't have an Onstar-equipped vehicle so I don't know the full details.

No, I believe, somebody's name should be under/in the owner "column". With the finance company as the lien holder, which is probably another column.

If your name is in the proper location then it should not be difficult to straighten out the apparent mix-up.

I'm not challenging you....I'm just trying to help.
