Anyone here run any autocross events
I always wanted to try one.
What was your experience at one.
Any autocross events in the Central Ny area
I guess I could check with the Porsche or Corvette club?
I am sure they would laugh when an HHR pulled up to their event and probably would laugh at my SS badges until it hit the first corner

 

I plan on doing some this summer with a friend of mine. There was one today in Hershey, PA. My friend entered. He runs a '71 El Camino he built for just such a thing. It's street legal too.

 

You need a powell hardcore, before you go play with Vettes.

 

And really good tires. I used to beat them in my Saabaru (no turbo, either), but I ran Hoosier race rubber to do it. If they design the course with features that are tough on Vettes, many times less-wide cars can play very well with them.

OP, I would start here> http://cny-scca.com/ for local events. Chances are, people local to you will know what other clubs are in the area, and some of them may run with multiple clubs as I used to do here.

More than that. Most autocross Vettes are already upgraded to Powell equipment (or better).
