72C equals 161.6F so a little cool from the OEM 180 F recommendation, but I’m sure your tune will accommodate it.

That's 162 Fahrenheit, way below normal operating temperature. What effect does that have on emissions? Does that ruin the cat? Or maybe you don't have emissions testing, or a catalytic converter? You have changed to a 160 degree thermostat or?

You can still have a 180F thermostat, and check the coolant temperature in a different place than OEM. If that’s the BMW coolant temperature sensor installed in the upper coolant inlet into the cylinder head , that 72C would be the temperature of the coolant after the radiator/ prior to the engine.

It would still pass testing, but theres no cats. No tstat. It’s a davies craig electric water pump setup and custom aluminum rad made for a cobalt

the bmw sensor is only for temp reference for my ewp/fan controller. Im running another coolant temp sensor for the dash where the other stock coolant banjo was

What do you even need the fan for? It is already cooler than optimum combustion temp.

You must have a reason for all of that but for a daily driver it is not good. Good luck when you need heat. Cooler is not better.

it makes big power, it’s not my daily. But i do street drive it in the summer. This chassis has never seen snow. Cooler is definitely better than too hot

Pretty awesome build, always interested in what you're doing to it/with it.
