The Big Run 2007 (Boogie at Antiqua Bay)

Okay, here is the newest info on the Big Run '07 edition !!! The run will be August 24-26, 2007 at the Howard Johnsons' Antiqua Bay Resort, Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin...The three day event will have enough entertainment for the entire family and still feed your need for HHR stuff too!!!
The event will begin Friday afternoon (August 24th) with sign-in and a move out to the amusement/waterpark for the mini-golf tournament and the go-cart grand prix !!! After the competitions we will head out for the first cruise of the weekend and go to Delaney's Surplus Outlet, (this place is a cool kinda' surplus/junk shop with an interesting sculpture garden out back). The sculptures are made from scrap automotive parts and are really cool...We will then cruise back and those interested can have dinner at the Moosejaw Pizza and Brewery (the place with the "Moose on the PT Cruiser "delivery trucks). The resort has indoor and outdoor waterparks, pools and jacuzzis where we can spend the rest of the evening just hangin' out. Of course there are also ton's of family and adult activities in and around the Dells from fun houses to boat excursions to a huge casino...(we will have discounts available to many of the Dells attractions for run attendees).
Saturday morning will start with the HHR Olympics...we will have a number of fun games for the adults like Egg Toss, Creeper Races, etc...more fun than skills involved, but it should make for some great stories and pics !!! We will also have Hot Wheel racing for adults and kids...including the fastest Johnny Lightning HHR competition...The Show and Shine will follow from 12:00 to 4:00 pm and after the awarding of the trophies and door prizes, we will head off to the main cruise of the event. The main cruise will head off towards Baraboo and take us to Devil's Head Lake for a nice drive and of course...a cookout !!! Bring your favorite recipe and if you have never cruised with this group before, you will not leave hungry !!! When we finally finish at the lake we will head back for more hangin' out or activities of your choice...
Sunday is going to be a chill out day, allowing families to hang out, enjoy more of the Dells activities and end their run at their leisure...there should be plenty to keep you busy without forcing you to be completely involved with HHR activities the entire time...
The cost of the run will be $20.00, and if you pre-enter before the 4th of July we will drop the cost to $15.00. Each entry will include entry to the Show and Shine, a dash plaque, a goodie bag and a door prize ticket. Trophies will be given for a number of classes and special awards, including Stock, Mild Custom and Full Custom HHRs and Long Distance trophies (one for non-members and the new Mid-American HHRs traveling Long Distance trophy for club members). There will be additional special awards for the Best Paint, Best Interior, and Peoples Choice. The sponsoring club will also offer an event t-shirt for sale. All profits from club runs and events during 2007 (including this run) will be distributed to approved charities at the end of the year, so you will be helping charities while enjoying a weekend in the Dells...cool huh !!
You may contact the host hotel toll free (877) 543-3557 or the toll line at
(608) 254-8306. You may check out the hotel's web site at www.antiquabay.com. If you would like to check other lodging, as well as get an idea of all of the activities available in the Dells you can go to
www.wisdells.com. I will be posting the room rates for Antiqua Bay Monday March 19...along with instructions on placing your reservations and obtaining our special rates and offers.
Finally if you have questions, please feel free to contact me via pm here or at scaleguy61@hotmail.com. We are looking forward to spending time with our friends and making many new ones...

Will do all that I can to try to make this trip. In all the times I've been to the Dells I've never stopped at the Moosejaw Pizza and Brewery. Just shows how many options the Dells has!!

Opps I didn't make that clear... the entry fee is for the HHR, I don't care if you stuff the entire family inside, infact do so , the more the merrier!!!!!!!!!! Oh the hotel will be provding waterpark tickets to the Riverview waterpark and amusement park for each person registered at the Antiqua Bay hotel for each day registered...We can get a tour of the brewery area at Moosejaw too, when I go up in May I will make a reservation for the group to take that tour...in case anyone is interested...There are going to be some great runs all over the country in 2007 hopefully everyone will get to check out at least one because you will meet the most fantastic people...

Okay the designer is Keith Weesner who does incredible art prints of hot rods. He sent 5 prints which the club will frame and offer as door prizes...Here is a new event just added to the list...The Road Ripper contest !!! Build your best, a copy of your ride, something custom, something completely off of the wall...your imagination is your only limitation !!! I am deeply involved in buildng my Johhny Lightning racer, but I think that I will have a Road Ripper entry...
