Block Engine heater?
Block Engine heater?
Winter is here in Alaska, and I need a block engine heater for my 2.2L HHR. Went to the local O'Rileys auto parts store and they said there isn't a block engine heater listed for my car.
Any idea if anyone makes one, if so, where can I get it.
Also, how hard is it to find a freeze plug in this engine?
thanks ahead of time for your help.

Freeze plugs are located in the engine block. So your going to either have to pull the intake and or exhaust manifolds to locate one.
Another option is to buy a coolant heater. Goes inline of a radiator hose or heater hose depending on the model. Helps with keeping the coolant warm, aiding in start up on those super cold days.

The block heater was optional. You could order one from a dealer. They attach to the block with a bolt. The heater turns on about 0 degrees. I was hoping it would work anytime it was plugged in.
