Camping and performance question

I'm in the process of trying to buy a HHR. I don't expect it to go four wheeling. But I do like to camp and the ground clearance looks a little low. Can this car go down dirt roads, forest roads? Does anyone have any experience with these camping. And any recommendations on which model? I thought about getting one and putting a little bigger tire on it, but haven't figured out what that would entail, or even if that would be a good idea. Sorry for rambling, I really like these cars. Just want to make sure how to make it work.

This isnt an suv, the ground clearance is similar to an average car, but Ive never had a problem. You cant go much bigger on the tires due to suspension parts.

Thanks Prod, i might rent one. Would still like it higher but its good to know it should fit my basic need. Woody seems a lot of people like it lower. Car seems versatile enough.

I've used mine twice up in the Woods Canyon area......on forest roads. A little common sense is necessary because it is a car, not a REAL truck, but I had no problems.

EDIT: Oh, should mention, I had a tent. Used the car for hauling and storage of food, drink and gear.

A tent? I thought Snoopy sleeps on top of the dog house.

Hey Snoopy,
Your from my neck of the woods. What tire size is on your HHR? The one I looked at at the dealership, I couldnt even get my head under the front it was sooooo low.
