Question CarQuest NGT Extreme AGM Battery?

Has anyone bought the CarQuest NGT Extreme AGM Battery for their HHR?

If so what one did you get, since they don't list an HHR one?

I know our oem battery is a vented outside type. But I need to use a much Better battery now, maybe even go with Dual Batteries.

These are supposed to be pretty decent batteries for heavy duty uses like as they claim, "High-performance stereo systems".

Just wondering which one to get since an HHR is not listed. (I can "vent" my spare tire well as needed.)

Our OEM battery is 6.5 X 9.5 X 6.75 tall.

My local CarQuest don't have them in stock but can get them within a few hours to their store.

With AGM batteries no need to vent, [ asborsbed glass matt ] no internal separaters as the acid is in the glass matte.

I thought that was the case, mentioned the venting thinking someone would start saying how I had to have it vented Outside.

Without knowing what the "AGM" even was.

I am thinking of getting a pair of these, was hoping to order them up in the morning from my local carquest.
I talked to a New guy who had NO clue they even had them. He admitted he had just started their part time.

I'll talk to the owner in the morning, they also carry auto body shop paint and supplies so I have dealt with this place for years now.

Any idea Jay what one I can fit down in the spare wheel well of our HHR's?

You will probably pay about double for an AGM battery. They they are good batteries, you will probably get an extra year out of it, vs a standard battery. Capacity will be very close to the same. You will have to decide if the differance in cost is worth it to you. It isn't to me.

nor to me.......we've gotten nearly 6 years out of the OEM battery and with any luck it won't have to be replaced before we sell the car.

Well I went to CarQuest this morning, but even in the place with them looking on their computers don't have much in the info department.

None in stock but can get from the warehouse twice daily.

Got the info that I could get, and someone I talk to on the Cobalt forums who knows car audio pretty well mentioned the Deka Intiminator AGM battery for comparison as it gave some specs.

Turns out this Deka battery has Better cold cranking amps specs and a better warranty.

I looked them up and found a warehouse type location about 9 miles from me and gave them a call.

It was a little less than the carquest one as well.

Gonna try it out for a week or two, then if needed I will get a second one and run dual batteries.

Deka batteries>

Make sure it is a AGM not a jell cell, you dont want a jell cell, I did not know that Deka made a AGM battery.
