I purchased a CGS intake about 2 months ago.

Everything I have read said everyone else has gotten better or the same mileage as the OEM intake. Not me! I have averaged between 2 to 5 MPG less over10 tank fulls sense installing it. I even tried replacing the filter with a K&N one, but no help. (A little quieter though.)

Anyone else have this problem any suggestions about how to improve it?

"Also" I have had no codes or any other problems with it.

Mike, maybe it's just the early winter we've had here in Ohio...mileage always goes down in winter, maybe coincidence???

I carefully track my milage and I too (in Cleveland) have dropped 2-3 mpg on stock everything over the last two months...and I drive like a grandpa...

Its gotta be the winter temps... I just bought a used GGS and have a little bitty Spectra cone filter on it... before i was averaging 21-22 city, with the cgs installed for the last 3 tanks i have been averaging 25-26 city... Still not totally sure i like it though... the mileage is great but im just not sure about the HP gains...

I've noticed a drop also in my mileage, probably a steady 2-5mpg depending on speed. This is the coldest weather that I've driven my SS in though.

How about...remember when gas prices really dropped?Didn't your milage drop too?Mine did..thought I was the only one, thought something went sour with the SS.I was getting consistant 27's and now can barely make 25 mpg....Could it be the gas companies are cutting the gas so you have to buy more???Hellofa conspiracy theory! Thats 30 miles less per tank per week per how many millions of cars? Makes you think...........

I am in s.e. Ohio. milage has droped 3 mpg since cold weather has set in. only mod is cat-back

My experience has always been better mileage in cold weather. A cooler intake temperature is generally better. That's one of the selling points for the aftermarket intake systems. My mileage has gotten better recently by 1-2 mpg. I use a scangauge to measure my intake temperature and it's about 5-8 degrees higher than the outside temp according to the DIC (when moving). I am running the stock intake and filter.

Something else is up then.
One thing taht is obvious that i am an idiot for forgetting is my tire pressure which is down since i don't drive the SS as much in the winter and havent upped the pressure. But I don't think that will make up the difference.
