Charged $1.00 for being an SUV

I went to my local car wash place today just for an exterior wash and wheel/tire wash. Usually it was 7 for the exterior wash and 4 for the rims/wheels. So it should of cost (7+4=11). However i was charger 12. There is an extra $1.00 surcharge if you are either an SUV or van. How BS.

I went to one car wash two weeks ago and they bump the wash up $1 because of the higher cost of energy right now. The funny thing is I went to the same chain of car washes but closer to my house and the price is still the same not $1 higher.

I got the best carwash ever right by my work. If you get 5 dollars in gas, you get 4 dollars off any carwash. Its a touchless and the 1 dollar gets me soap double wash spotless rinse and dry.

But the HHR is a wagon, not an SUV! Show them your registration card as proof! And if they're stubborn, just back off and offer them the addition $1.00 as a condolence of them being ugly.

My thought process is amazing...

You may it a wagon, but I really don't thnk they have fully classifed that yet. My reg. says it's a truck, and on chevy.com it is under SUV, and others have posted it as being other things as well. I honestly pay a mobile detail guy to come out every other week, for the whole chabang, for $30.

There is a car wash that used to charge me $2 extra to wash my lifted Nissan truck because it's "oversized". The truck is a 93 standard cab, a small pickup. They don't charge extra for 2wd's of the same truck.

I asked them why they don't hand wash the top before it goes through the car wash like they do the other cars and trucks. "Because it's too high, we can't reach the top," they said. "Hmmm... the machine doesn't work harder due to the extra height on my vehicle, does it?" I asked. "No..." was their reply. "Does it use more water or something?"

"No."

"So lemme get this straight... you hand wash my vehicle LESS than a 'smaller' one, and it makes no difference at all to the machine. In fact, you don't even hand dry the top of my truck, since you can't reach it."

"That's Correct, sir"

"So... basically you're charging me more to do less actual work on my truck?"

"Um... I suppose that's right."

"I don't think I'll be back."
