Check engine light

Check engine light
Is the HHR quick to throw a code (cel)?
I have an 05 Trailblazer and an 07 Mustang both with over a 100 thousand miles and they rarely ever have a check engine light. Does the HHR have a more sensitive cel trigger?

Nope, it could be anything though. Could be you didn’t put your gas cap on tight enough.
You will have to scan it.
But I would say any car could have a check engine light go on all the time or not at all, just depends.

Ok. I just bought the car a month ago and havent cleaned the throttle body and maf yet so that may be it. I have put it new plugs, air filter and replaced the cracked cold air tube. Car runs great and I averaged 34.5 mpg at 60 mph on a trip yesterday.

Your local auto parts store should be able to give you the codes for free and then you can search them on this site.
you could clean the MAF sensor and throttle body, but the check engine light may have nothing to do with that.
However, if you had a crack in your intake and the check engine light popped up and then you fixed it, the light may need to be cleared for it to go away.
But I would suggest taking it and getting it scanned before you do anything.

Hmmmm.... they say the reports are in plain English, not technical terms. If one doesn't understand the technical terms, they are likely to not be able to repair it properly. Just my opinion. Seems like just another code reader, but dumbed down. (not meant to be derogatory.)

That's great. I really don't think you'll get a lot more than that.

It is an ELM327 interface, the app is the only difference. Use any other app get the ELM327 FOR <$20 many apps are free.
I absolutely would not trust their "plain english". My evidence is the vast majority of "plain english" speaking technicians that replace sensors for p0010,P0011,P0013,P0016,P0017.
Have you ever tried to read "plain english" instructions written by a Japanese ESL student from a translation by a Mandarin speaker with Japanese as a second language?
Or, just GoOgle translate?
