ChevyMGR HELP

:)
I have searched on everything I can think of to search by looking for info on replacement keys. I know they are chipped and have found a place offering blanks to be cut and programmed. My question is, is the programming something I can do or will I have to take the key to the dealer?

Thanks

I'm pretty sure if you have one good key you can program another, and the steps are in the owner's manual. Now key fobs are a different story... your dealer has to program those.

Yep
Put original key in the switch and turn to run but don't start the car. Then turn it off. Put the new blank key in and do the same thing.

Thanks guys for the quick response

I knew about the FOB being a dealer only programing item, but thought I had either heard or saw in the Owners Manual or in a forum post, the key could be done somehow. Am at work looking at keys on ebay myself and am in the truck today. Didn't have my owners manual handy to check. I knew someone here would know.

Thanks all
