Classic/Collector Car Insurance

Thanks Doc Brown, if they ask for an appraisal I'll get one and come to an agreement point and go from there with them, right now my value is certainly up for modification by them and myself, just began with a figure that was asked for when I first became interested in it in 2015 when it was still under warranty.. Going price now is about half of that figure.

I really only want a break in the annual insurance price, full coverage for the year versus the amount of actual use the car has just doesn't add up and I mainly keep it in case of theft which would conveniently pay me blue book if I was lucky assumed by past dealings with insurance companies quick to total a car for that or any reason, cheaper to do so.....

Regards,'

Thanks LT, that is one I have not tried yet and will right now..

It didn't fly LT, they had stipulations on age of the vehicle first and then on modified as well.. It will just have to get older before they'll consider it, I am however getting an education on this as I go..

Again, Thank You for your suggestion and reply as well.

Regards,
John Ryan

I have Hagerty. I have a 1973 Ford Econoline shorty that I have had insured with them for several years. When we got our Solstice GXP I checked with my agent and he said they would cover it. So when I got my SS I checked again and sure enough they said OK to it as well. When I first called about the Solstice, they said as long as it is a turbo model. OK, whatever.

Great customer service and great rates. The agreed value is also a very reassuring feature. I have my SS insured for 12K. It would be very easy to replace for that.

Thank you for the reply Guitar Builder, I do have a quote from Hagerty I might go with and from my original agency too as they don't want to lose me and can sell a Hagerty Policy apparently, just got it yesterday and looking through it this weekend for consideration.. I liked it mainly due to it being a bit less than my policy quoted with Progressive and Safeco but allowing me to place a value on the vehicle other than the Blue Book the previous carrier would have handed me in the event of a wreck and or theft etc..

I appreciate you and the others on chevyhhr.net taking the time and effort to reply to my request..

Regards,

John Ryan

Don't forget https://www.grundy.com/collector-cars/ insurance, they have "agreed Value & no mileage minimums, But you must have a different primary vehicle..
They have been around since 1947 or so.
