Coolant Gauge Problem

While driving today my coolant gauge flat lined. The DIC also stopped displaying the coolant temp. The car is running normal, plus all other system , gauges are working normal. The DIC is also displaying all other information normally. I have checked all fuses, hoses, etc. Everything seems fine. I will make an appointment with the dealer tomorrow. I was just wondering if anyone else had run across this problem? If so, is there some easy fix that I've overlooked?
Thanks to all who reply.

I believe another member mentioned this problem also. Don't remember who. Sounds like a sending unit went bad or a loose wire/connector.

Oh, remind the dealer the HHR has 2 sensors....both need to be checked.

That would be me. They replaced the BCM and that fixed the problem. It sounds simple but it took them 4 days and 2 revisits to figure this out. Good luck.

Thanks for the reply's I have an appointment scheduled for tomorrow. The crazy thing is while driving to work today about half way there (10miles) the coolent gauge and the DIC coolent readout suddenly started working normally again. I'm sure that they will both work fine while at the dealer!!

Had the same issue. After replacing the fan relay and thermostat, it turned out to be a chafed wire in the harness. Only took six trips to the dealer...

Do you know roughly where that wire was?
