cooling fan differences

Can someone tell me the difference between the cooling fans on the normally aspirated models versus the turbo model.

Other than the obvious electrical connector and the number of blades, does the turbo unit move more air, draw more current, etc.?

Thanks,

Welcome to the site.

Not sure about the exact airflow and current draw specs, but the SS fan has a built in control module that the regular HHR fan does not.

Once again not sure on the specs but I seem to recall that the SS fan module takes the place of the regular fan relay #50.
I know on my SS, relay slot #50 is empty.

That would partly explain the big difference in price. I plan to use the HHR fan in another application - these come highly recommended. However, if there is a separate control module I suspect there is more to it than just plugging it into a temp controlled 12v circuit! From a previous post I read, the "turbo" fan is variable speed so that's like what the controller does but the controller would need a signal to know what speed to run to. If this comes from the computer then that pretty much kills my hopes of using the "turbo" fan.

The lsj supercharged cars have a dual fan setup, but the wiring becomes more difficult.
