I think its a matter of personal preference and whether you like more intake sound or not. Imo the stock cold air intake works just as well. The engine is getting all the air it needs and the fuel/air ratio is controlled by the computer.

But it was easier to change the fuel injectors without removing the K&N air filter box
Just the two bolts that hold the fuel rail

K&N claims a 9 HP increase with just the new box and filter.
They claim more HP from the drop in filter in the stock air box.
A mild increase but noticeable.

Interesting tho, that none of the "kits" show the torque curve, that would be something to see.

anything wrong with csg's intake, I didn't really see anyone showing one, just K&N's, guess that should tell me a lot

Really! That might be worth it but is the oiled filter causing any problems, how long have you had it on your car, is it loud and has it caused a decrease in mpgs?
