Hey papajim, your build date is 04/09/2008 and you should of gotten the dash box recall part.

2006 = 6/16/2006 has an open recall on the dash storage bin

2008 = 6/13/2008

 

Hate to bug you Chevy manager, but could you check mine:

Also, both have the same (old style) storage bin (without the extra screws). I got one kit in, will I automatically get another for the other vehicle?

What does "open recall" mean, and why wouldn't it be on both?

 

SS has the new style box in the dash.

It's open because GM is shipping the parts to the customers, so I don't know how they will ever close on GMs web site.

Thanks Chevy Mgr, already got the part on the 06 and it took all of a minute.

One problem, on the 06 you have the mfg date as 6/16/06. Could you have gotten a digit wrong? I checked the last 6 digits on the VIN (617952) and that one is correct. The reason I am asking is because I bought it on March 22, 2006 From Holz Motors in Wisconsin and I can't believe I am that good to get it before it was made!

Also, great to see I have a Friday the thirteenth car on my black SS

 

2006 = 02/16/2006 My mistake on the typo. Must of been thinking of my wifes birthday. Wrong year of course.

 

You can show her this and point out that here birthday is always on your mind!

Worth at least a few brownie points!
