Dealer closed

Got a phone call from the dealer I bought my car from in Irvine, CA. It was a pre-recorded message say that they are now closed and any service info has been forwarded to their other dealerships.

No real impact on me. I bought my SS from them because it was in the only manual on the Chevy website within 150 miles of San Diego.

Anyone else get a phone call like this or have to deal with another servicing dealer?

The one by the Tustin Marketplace?
Was down that way yesterday.
I go to Selman Chevrolet in Orange for everything and thankfully they are still around!

My friend and I both received calls today stating the same thing. The message said they were closing and that they had sent all our information to another Chevy dealer in town

The auto "mall" just south of the place is Tustin off the 5. Power Chevrolet was the name of the dealership. I had decent buying experience there. Their inventory did seem small though...

There will be alot more still in the future too. In my area in NY, in my are 9 GM dealers closed since June.....9!!!! 4 of them Chevy. Since Sept of last year, 23 GM dealers closed up in our Tri-State area (NY,CT,NJ). New GM or not, people still hold contempt towards GM. The last 2 Saturn dealers in the area are done as well.

Would this be the one: POWER CHEVROLET IRVINE 21 AUTO CENTER DRIVE IRVINE CA 92618-2825? If so, they were on the Dealership wind down list.

That is where my Panel came from. They were HUGE a few years ago, but they were specializing in lifted trucks. As far as their service department, I had a horrific experience on my first visit and would never let them touch my car again. So in a way I feel good about it.

I go to that Costco and the place never seemed to be too busy--that part of OC is more of a Beemer/Audi/Mercedes-land.

Glad my dealer made it through (figuered they would).

My fear is this will become a bigger problem as time goes on. So far the local Chevy dealer in town is still there. Since my HHR will be three years old in March, warrantee work won't be an issue, except if I have power train problems, which I hope never to. Local dealer here is not on the 'wind down' list posted by ChevyMgr. Thats a lot of dealers on that list!
