Mine has dent's on both ends of the hatch strip and I don't use the strip to close my hatch, I use the license plate. But the dealer won't fix it, they want $500.00, screw them, I'll just get the dent Dr. to fix it.

I use the chevy emb all the time to close mine, no problem yet. I just notice a dent just to the right of the lower license plate corner about 3" over. The only thing I can think of is when my wife closes the hatch, she pushes on the body. Not blaming her, just cant think of what would hit in that spot. It show up with in 2 day, and where we parked it would be hard to be hit. The door sheet metal is very thin. The dent isn't bad, may just pull the panel of and push it back.

Exclamation

sounds to me..
the temper of the aluminum is either not there.. (they used the cheapest method to fab and form) or had specs to do it and forgot to do...

Aluminum?? What Aluminum??? My HHR's rear lift gate is steel. At least I think it is. It's magnetic.

But, you are right they do use the cheapest method to fab and form. But, I guess you would need to, if you're going to make 140,000 of them.

CH if I remember was the first to post on the dents on the hatch. I close mine by shutting it fast, not slamming, I pull down on the inside handle. I also have pushed on the hatch at the bottom of the hatch where it bends in.

Thumbs up

WOW!!

That's about all I can say about the dealer we bought Bonnie's HHR from. When we made the deal I told them they had to install HHR flaps and tint the front 20%.

A few days ago I noticed one of the infamous beauty bar dents.

Weber Chevrolet, Creve Coeur MO, did it all!

Mudflaps-no problem; 20% tint-problem, dealer wouldn't install more than legal but they sent me to have it done and are paying for it (looks great, and yes pics will be posted); beauty bar dent-no problem, took it in and had the car back dent-free in two hours!!

I only wish we had bought mine from the same dealer. They're hurting so bad that they lost their floor plan!! A VERY big deal from what I understand. maybe Bryce can enlighten us. But from what I can gather, it means they have to pay for their stock, no more factory financing!!

Glad you got everything fixed at a reputable dealer! Weber looks like a pretty big company. Companies that size are big for a reason (and I don't mean the kind like Lithia or AutoNation). But, man, losing floor plan is about the worst thing that can happen. That's so much overhead. Wonder what'll happen to the franchise.

By the way, what sealed the deal for you on your wife's HHR? Was it adding the mudflaps and tint?

Feld is the dealer that lost the floor plan.

The deal was sealed when I offered 3% over cost, invoice minus holdback. I would have let the tint and flaps slide but they were a nice bonus!
