Did the dealer give you this when you bought your HHR?

I learned allot about my car in the first 5 minutes. I was in such a hurry to get to work after buying it, didn't look at the gas gauge. Got a mile down the road and heard a beeping noise, looked at dash and got the low fuel warning. Pulled into nearest gas station, reached down for fuel door release. Um, O.K. maybe it's by the dash, maybe glove box. That led me to the Manual, found the page and felt like an idiot. I had my wife convinced the fuel door won't open unless you have the car key near it, so not just anybody can open it.

14....that's funny. I almost did the same thing. It was New Year's Eve, 2007....7:15pm...dealership closed its doors behind me as I left in my used 2006 2LT.

I forgot to ask them to fill it up, and I knew I was driving a long distance the next day, so I decided to just fill it myself.

after spending a couple minutes at the pump, I kept looking for a dome light switch near me so I could read my manual.

no WAY was I going to get OUT of the car to stand there like a nube and read my manual just to find out how to open the fuel door.

finally found the map light on the rear view mirror, and found how to open my fuel door.

I KNOW how you felt....believe me. I am also glad(sorry) that I am not the only one that the dealer didnt give a full tank to!

Petty Gripe

This is probably a stupid question, but where is the cover for the owners manual ???? We bought a new 2008 with all the bells and whistles on Aug. 18, 2008, and all the owners manuals, XM manual, OnStar, etc; etc; came in a ziplock baggie! I had to dig out my 1996 Toyota Tacoma manual cover to put it in so it wouldn't get torn up in the glove box Jeez.........

Got a nice vinyl slipcover for mine, must be either a canadian thing, or a dealer thing.

Count ypur self lucky as I never go the Zip lock.

Chevy over the years seldom had covers. Pontiav/Buick/Olds etc have for years. But I think een Pontiac no longer come in a case. I will have to check my GP.

Oh even the new Malibus have no cover too.

Now there is an item someone can make for Ebay. With Carbon Fiber.

It's usually the dealer that will give a cover for your manual. Mine came with a very nice cover!!
