Different DRL Set Ups

Here's a question for those of us who have DRLs (Daytime Running Lights). DRLs are mandatory in Canada and I've noticed that quite a few HHRs I've seen use the headlights as DRLs where as mine (an 06 LT) uses the parking lights as DRLs. Does anyone know if GM changed the set up of the DRLs on a certain model year or trim level?

Just curious and if anyone could shed light on this it would be greatly appreciated :)

GM used the parking lights as DRLs for 2006, and the headlamps as DRLs for 2007 and later.

Thanks for that :) I wasn't sure if there was a change sometime down the line or if it has been modified.

One of the things that make the 06 model stand out among the rest........that and the DBM color!!(mine anyways)

Don't they have a new blue color out now that's sort of similar? I don't know what it's called, but it's like blue-purple depending on the light and angle you look at it. It's kinda cool.

Not too sure about the year but I saw an HHR on friday that had this exact paint, it looked pretty sweet!

It's called BLue Flash, it looks similiar until the 2 are side to side, then it's like night and day.

The Daytona Blue doesn't really change quite as much depending on the angle, does it?
