Just go to airtab.com I am thinking of getting these for the back of my motor home. From all that I have read they break up the vacuum from the back of your vehicle and give it a more laminar flow. But think they would look real bad on an HHR but to each there own.

 

We hashed this one a year ago. I really don't see how these really would do much good. Also they have a love hate look about them.

The fact is as much or more of the spray comes up from under the car and unless you use a full width flap or have a strong down draft off the roof you are going to get road spray on the rear.

They do break up the air but there are just too many other factors.

Also with the window washer. I never had an issue with the bow tie getting trashed till I used the rear washer fluid. I suspect the alcohol got under the lens. I stopped using it and never had an issue since.

 

I"ve heard that too...so I try not to use it unless I need to, and I wash it frequently anyways, and that would hopefully remove any that is on it.

 

It's a Rear Window, USE the provided wiper.
It would be nice if it made a full half circle sweep but it don't, it is what it is.

I wash my windows Regularly at fill ups and whenever needed in between most gas stations provide papertowels and squeegees I just dip a few papertowels in the wash fluid they provide carefully so I don't pick up grit in it and wash it and dry it. Real Quick with a Panel, I'm done before it fills up, with all 4 windows and my mirrors.

When raining, I use the wiper, I like seeing out my rear view mirror.

If it really bugs you, then I suggest you remove the rear window entirely.

It isnt really that hard to do on an HHR. 1 piece of sheetmetal, some welding a can of bondo and primer and paint.
You don't even have to remove the hatch, just remove the glass cut out the sheetmetal to size/shape and weld, can be in prime and ready for paint in a weekend.



Then you Never have to worry about it again.

 

I don't use the rear wiper on any of my vehicles. Over time it will scratch the rear window because the crud is usually gritty. The previous owner of my HHR used the rear wiper and I can see the wiper pattern when the rear window is clean. Of course the same thing happens to the windshield but one has no choice but to use the front wipers. RainX will minimize the wiper useage but I have been told it will cause problems if you need chip repairs. I use the side mirrors with spotters to see what is happening behind me.

 

To be honest I use the front as little as needed. I usally have it on long delay.

Not because of the glass but I hate the wipers in general.

 

I am the same way - time delay. I use the wipers and fluid sparingly. However, I am safety conscious and do not drive "blind".

 

That's why I don't run it. I run prestone stuff and call it "fire juice".

 

I always use the orange stuff that's made by RainX, but that's only because it's orange.
